You should get your eyes tested at least once every two years or more often if necessary. A full eye test should take about 30 minutes. Optometrists are the ones who check the eyes.
Children need to start their first examination at the age of three, and then as when required. At 40, you should have a full eye examination, with follow-up eye tests. With advancement of age there is a risk of cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration. With eye check ups they can be detected early treated in time. At 70 and beyond, it is imperative to have a full eye examination every year.
